I didn't think there was a too early for dating, not sure if anyone else was told this too?I've had 4 ultrasounds already beginning at 6 weeks 4 days. I'm guessing that it may be difficult to see a heartbeat that early and they would prefer to wait. There was a heartbeat etc so I'm feeling ok about baby's growth, but a little uneasy knowing there was probably a better way of checking that the technician didn't do.Has anyone else had a technician refuse to do an internal scan around the 6/7 week mark? They won't book me for an ultrasound beforr 7.5 weeks so having mine at 8 weeks.
I've been waiting impatiently for a call to go in for my dating ultrasound, I'm super excited about baby and want to see that everything is good.
They finally called today but said it's too early for me to go in for an ultrasound and are making me wait another 3 weeks.
I'm thinking about asking my dr if I should do another at a different place in a week or two to confirm dates - we were not planning on doing a nuchal so otherwise the next scan would be the morphology which is a long way away. Maybe when you book it you could mention you want a vaginal us?
We opt not to have the nuchal either but we still get a scan around 12wks just to check baby is still ok and growing well, so you could do that to.
Transvaginal ultrasound, by contrast, can detect pregnancies earlier, at approximately 4 to 5 weeks gestation.
